Susan Page

Today’s #HCSHeroes Spotlight is Susan Page, a third grade teacher at Harrison Elementary. This is Mrs. Page’s first year in Hamilton County Schools, and she took on the challenging task of serving as an HCS at Home teacher.

“Mrs. Page is an amazing teacher and an amazing human,” said Jessica Pfister-Reyes, a parent. “Mrs. Page shows how anything is possible when you love your job and kids! I can hear her engaging with the kids while I work from my office. I hear them participating and giggling as she has found a way to make learning fun!”

“Mrs. Page is so deserving,” said Jennifer Brownlee, interim principal at Harrison Elementary. “She is always thinking about ways to make learning more effective for her students. A true HCS star!”

Although many would focus on all the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, Mrs. Page has found the silver lining. “During COVID, I have been so fortunate to get to know the families of my students faster,” said Mrs. Page. “They are a big part of their child's success and I am grateful for their support.”

Getting to know her students has been a bit more challenging, but with time, Mrs. Page has been able to make her students feel more comfortable and confident to engage during class.

“Teaching and learning along with the students is the best part of my day,” said Mrs. Page.  “Every one of my students is talented, hard-working and a good person from the inside out.”

The efforts of our teachers and staff are truly heroic, and we are proud to have people like Mrs. Page on our team to support our students!
