I returned to college in 2005 to become a teacher. I worked as an educational assistant until then. I have my Bachelor's in elementary education and I am licensed to teach K-6 all subjects. I graduated in 2011 with my M.Ed as a Reading Specialist.

I worked many years as a volunteer while my two sons were in elementary school. I was a PTA president and later became a Parent Volunteer Coordinator. In 2003 I was hired as an educational assistant. After graduating I did several interims, temporary jobs and substituting in Hamilton County. Technically I have taught for 3 years but this is my second  year as a permanent elementary teacher.

My practicums and student teaching include 6th grade, 3rd grade and 2nd grade. I have completed two interims in 5th grade and last year I was hired as a temporary teacher for 5th grade at Clifton Hills. In January (2016), I was hired as the permanent 5th grade teacher.

During my years as an educational assistant, I was a reading interventionist for Title 1. Reading is my passion and I believe it is the basis of all learning. :)
